The trees don't judge me as I walk past.

Instead, they say hello with their waving leaves.

The birds don't tell me what to do.

Instead, they sing songs that lift my heart.

The flowers don't ask me to be as pretty as they are.

Instead, they invite me to be in their presence - as I am.

The wind doesn't push me to do things I don't want to do.

Instead, it gently caresses me until I am ready.

The sun doesn't ask me to be even brighter.

Instead, it illuminates the path on which I travel.

The journey itself...

Pushes, challenges, thrusts, changes, implores, expands, pulls, evolves.

Unless I stagnate like that murky swamp with the algae, stuck leaves and rotting wood.

And for this reason I have found my go-to place of discovery and ease,

Movement and stillness.

Quiet contemplation.

Where I am uninhibited.

Close to home.

Walking in Nature.

Writing this poem.
